What is wheat straw plastic and why do we use it?
Wheat straw plastic is an innovative material made from wheat straw – a by-product of the wheat harvest that would otherwise be burned. It is lightweight, strong and suitable for use in packaging for shampoos and other cosmetics.
It is BPA-free, safe for contact with food and therefore cosmetics. It has natural antibacterial properties, does not absorb odors and is completely gluten-free.
From an ecological point of view, it is biodegradable - it decomposes in industrial compost within 6-24 months (depending on conditions).
